So for fathers day my dad asked me for a new aftershave called Creed, id never heard of it... I'm not really all into perfume, especially not mens. My only interest in perfume before i did my fragrance project at uni was the smell i wear and have always worn: Lady Million by Paco Robanne. What a cliche, but seeing as my favourite colours gold and love all things sweet this scent is perfect for me and doesn't come too expensive. However when i looked online for this 'Creed' my Dad had asked for i was shocked to see the cost. £230 is way out of my budget, so needless to say Dad will probably be getting a packet of fruit pastels like last year. This ordeal left me curious as to why this fragrance was so expensive, so i did some digging.

Creed is a niche perfume house, which i already knew as id never heard of it and couldn't afford it. Alike a lot of big Niche brands it has boutiques in Paris, London, New York City, Dubai Mall, and Kuwait in addition to stands in high end retailers across the world.

The scents are created in-house by two perfumers: a father and his son. The current generation consists of Olivier Creed (who is credited for Green Irish Tweed, Millesime Imperial, Silver Mountain Water and Aventus among others) and his son Erwin Creed. Although the company 'House of Creed' was initially founded by James Henry Creed in London in 1760 and was actually a tailoring establishment to begin with but rose to fame in the mid 19th century under Henry Creed as tailors and habit makers for the fashionable dandy Count d'Orsay, Queen Victoria, and Empress Eugénie, who issued the firm of Creed & Cumberland a Royal Warrant for tailoring articles. Olivier Creed's first eponymously named fragrance was a traditional eau de cologne with matching aftershave. Its release date is unknown, although bottles are still in circulation. Creed also has other high-profile creations in its catalog such as Angelique Encens, which was said to have been originally created in 1933 for the Bishop of Paris.

Fit for royalty, no wonder my Dad fancies a spritz.
