KATE MOSS AGENCY

Kate Moss has started her own modelling agency with a really new and inventive name: 'Kate Moss Agency'. I know, thrilling. But it takes more than a name and a face along with a good reputation to do well but she must be doing something right. Making over 1.1 million in its first year alone the Kate Moss Agency focuses on managing careers rather than running a modelling agency.
She says herself that she doesn't "really want pretty people" she wants "people who want to sing and act and dance" she wants "to create stars".
She started the agency last autumn, a clever move. As now she can cast her hand picked faces alongside herself in campaigns.
The latest, a collaboration with brazillian jeweller Ara Vartanian. Featuring two of her signings, Elfie Reigate (daughter of Model Rosemary Ferguson) and Anna-Lea Gardner as well as Moss herself.
Moss has had at least two success stories so far, Elfie who i mentioned before being one of them. Debuting in Alexander Queens show. as well Louis Baines landing a big campaign with Hopman.
Personally i feel the financial success of this business isn't just down to Kates contacts in the media industry, it must be more than that.
I feel Kate is really trying her hand as a business woman, trying to branch out and not rely on her appearance alone as a pretty face doesn't last forever. Maybe this is the message she is trying to send as she doesn't just want "pretty people" even in the modelling industry you need to secure your own future with a little bit more substance. In this case possibly by singing or dancing.
Aspiring stars signing up for this agency know that they have got the benefit of first hand knowledge from someone who has been in the industry her whole career and knows the ins and outs better than anyone else. What better agency could there be to 'manage' your career.
